With its tall, rectangular shapes, a Lego tower has the potential to be the perfect example of an “architectural utopia,” according to architect and designer, Legoland World, in a video created to promote the upcoming Lego Architecture 2020 theme park.
In the video, Lego architect, Mark McNeill, shows off the tower’s unique shapes, which are built on a base made up of Lego bricks.
McNeill explained in a press release that, as Lego fans, they love to build things like towers and spires and are thrilled to build one that combines these ideas into one unique structure.
“As Lego fans ourselves, we wanted to create something unique, and so we thought it would be fun to create a tower that had both Lego and modern design elements,” McNeill said in the video.
“With that in mind, we took inspiration from many classic architectural structures and then created an original building to combine them into a tower with the LEGO style.”
McNeill said that the tower also had a futuristic look to it, with its curved roof and exposed, exposed glass and steel construction.
The building’s height of 4,500 feet (1,400 meters) also made it the tallest building in Legoland.
The tower also has a massive glass and glass paneling that is used for all the rooms and lobbies of the attraction.
McNeil said that a “boulder” design, or the appearance of a tower being raised off the ground, would be a “perfect fit” for the theme park, which is set to open in 2019.
Legoland World is hoping to lure as many as 1 million guests to its new theme park and has announced that it will use Legoland’s LEGO-themed buildings to house attractions like a skate park, a museum and even a new shopping mall.
